Mint

The mint grown in Mochov is a crossbreed of horse mint, water mint, and spear mint. Compared to native species, this crossbreed has the highest content of active substance - menthol, for which the mint is grown and used.

Menthol is a substance affecting nerve endings - Externally, it evokes feeling of cold. Internally, it has antiseptic and spasmolytic effects. Its effect on the production and secretion of bile is also important - therefore, mint is an important component of aromatic, carminative and gastric teas. In recent years, the popularity of drinks with fresh mint has been increasing.

Growing mint is quite simple. The only demanding part of the production is harvesting, which is done manually, and only in the morning hours, after the morning dew disappears. It is necessary in order to maintain the maximum of active substance. After harvesting, we cool the mint down to the temperature of 3-5 degrees and we quickly dispatch it to consumers.

Recepty

Unbaked Mint Pudding

In a small saucepan, mix sugar with cinnamon (if you do not like cinnamon or if you prefer less sweet desserts, you can omit the cinnamon and sugar) and add a can of condensed milk. While stirring constantly, let it caramelize. Unfortunately, this is the longest part of the recipe, taking 1.5-2 hours, but then it is easy. If you find a tin called "Caramel Treat" (produced by Nestle) in the section of foreign food in the store, use it to save the time mentioned.

In the whipping container, whip the cream and mix in caramelized milk, along with finely chopped mint. Place a layer of cookies in the bowl of your choice, spread the mixture over them and continue the process until the end, when the top layer will consist of the cream. Put in the fridge to harden for about 4 hours, and after removing it, sprinkle it with grated chocolate (the best is a combination of dark and milk).

Serve it cut into cubes and garnished with a mint leaf.
